Who are we and where did the vision begin?

I distinctly remember the question being asked by my Grade 2 teacher... What do you want to be when you grow up? My answer, “I want to install siding, soffit, facia and eavestrough on people’s houses, just like my Dad!” My teacher tried to condense my answer by suggesting “Construction?” “No!” I answered very emphatically. In my mind construction clearly meant paving roads and building bridges, not at all what I had in mind!

By the time I was in high school I was dreaming of building “people’s houses” and not merely cladding the exteriors. My first full-time job was with a construction crew in Cambridge Ontario, building residential dwellings in a new subdivision. And over the years my work continued to focus on the building industry.

In 2015 I was offered a job with a design firm near Listowel Ontario. The firm offered design services for residential, farm and light commercial buildings. 2 years later I wrote the exams to become a registered designer and I have continued to pursue this work both with blueprint design as well as hands on experience on-site to stay current with building components and materials as well as current with the amazing tradesmen that bring the project to reality.
